On January 10, 2021 chef Vítor Sobral was recognized with the Cutipol Lifetime Achievement Award 2020. The chef was the most voted by a jury panel composed by 24 chefs and succeeds Joachim Koerper (Eleven restaurant) and Dieter Koschina (Vila Joya restaurant).
With over 30 years of career, Vítor Sobral continues to be a a benchmark when we refer the best chefs working in Portugal. Since the 90's his restaurants were one of the very few places where modernity and creativity were combined with traditional portuguese flavours.
He was pioneer in the expansion of Portuguese gastronomy in Brazil, found new ways and different views, trained new cooks, opened and closed restaurants, published books and above all, he never lost his taste for cooking. This award is the recognition of Vítor Sobral's resilience, in a particularly difficult year for the sector.
For the third year Cutipol joins the Mesa Marcada's awards to honor the contribution of best cooking chefs working in Portugal for the development and innovation of national gastronomy.
With 12 years of existence, the gastronomic blog Mesa Marcada is considered one of the main gastronomic guides in Portugal. The attribution of annual awards is already considered one of the most important recognitions in the Portuguese gastronomic scene.
