"When I was little my dad gave me a flip book. Since then, I have been fascinated by the idea of moving things into rigid objects" says Cairn Young about the Phi series. Young, born in 1963, is considered an outstanding representative of London's new design scene. In 1991 he co-founded the studio Platt & Young, London with Robin Platt. Together, for example, they developed the innovative porcelain concept A la carte for Rosenthal.
