Carnet De Voyages by Bela Silva

“I love imperfect things. Imperfection reflects individuality. I wanted to create everyday objects with a rough finish and a timeless look, and whose geographical origin is hard to guess” Bela Silva.

The Carnet De Voyages collection was born by the hand of the Portuguese artist Bela Silva. With a cosmopolitan style, the pieces in the collection are a reflection of Bela's many travels around the world. Each bowl, dish or jug in the collection reflects an undeniable echo of the past, visible both in both the terracotta colors and its robust design. The Carnet De Voyages home line represents the audacity and eccentricity of an eclectic, geographic mix that pushes the boundaries of time.

About Bela Silva although born and raised in Lisbon, we may well attribute the predicate 'world citizen' to the Portuguese artist Bela Silva. She studied in Portugal, the UK and the US and she explored all possible arts disciplines. Her work has shared the spotlight in exhibitions with that of Andy Warhol, and her tile art is popular from Brazil to Spain, across China and back to Portugal. Nowadays she commutes between Brussels and Lisbon, mainly focussing on her first love, ceramics.
