The bowl is made from fine stoneware paste, hand-glazed in a translucent white glaze. The board is made from olive wood. For serving a variety of appetisers. It represents the tradition of olive growing in Portugal, inspired by the olive grove.
The box includes an illustration and a summary of the text ‘Monte das Oliveiras’, which tells a story inspired by the olive tree, from the times when only birds fed on its fruit and enjoyed its shade, to the present day where the flavour of its juice is valued and appreciated.

With its very own conceptual approach and based on the ancestral ceramic techniques of Caldas da Rainha, Laboratório d' Estórias fuses reality with myth, tradition with fable. Above all, it unleashes the imagination, taking a fresh and irreverent look at the dormant icons of Portuguese popular culture.
The objects thus appear as memorials, physical evidence of a story created by Portuguese artists. Story and image become an integral part of the reinvented objects, taking them much further than their merely decorative or functional purpose. In the end, each piece is in itself a unique and dynamic story, ready to be discovered.
The Laboratório d'Estórias also finds its raison d'être in the attempt to preserve Caldas da Rainha's ceramics know-how, recovering and valorising the painting techniques of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the vast tradition of manual technique in Caldas da Rainha; not rejecting the search for inspiration in other techniques.
