Monte das Oliveiras" was specially designed for olive oil tasting.
It represents the tradition of olive growing in Portugal by depicting a symbolic landscape - the olive grove. The ceramic pieces are produced in fine stoneware paste and hand-glazed in a translucent white glaze. The tasting plate is complemented by natural pieces of olive wood, carefully harvested from the Portuguese olive grove. The board is made from olive wood.
The box includes an illustration and a summary of the text ‘Monte das Oliveiras’ (Mount of Olives), which tells a story inspired by the olive tree, from the times when only birds fed on its fruit and enjoyed its shade, to contemporary times when the flavour of its juice is valued and appreciated.

The Laboratório d'Estórias also finds its raison d'être in the attempt to preserve Caldas da Rainha's ceramics know-how, recovering and valorising the painting techniques of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the vast tradition of manual technique in Caldas da Rainha; not rejecting the search for inspiration in other techniques.
